Denton Area Coordinator | Direction 61:3

The primary focus of the Denton Area Coordinator is to cultivate strong connections within the community, especially with local churches and businesses, while also overseeing and managing area programs and staff to support the program's growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with area staff and the Executive Director to support initiatives in the Denton Area.

  • Leadership in the Denton Area.

  • Foster relationships with local churches and businesses to establish Denton Community Partnerships.

  • Advocate for the needs in the Denton Area and solutions to meet those needs.

  • Organize Area Serve Days and address ongoing needs specific to the Denton area through volunteers, local businesses, advertising needs, etc.

  • Manage maintenance tasks, furniture requirements, service opportunities, and repairs for homes, via volunteers or local businesses.

  • Report to and maintain communication with the Property Manager.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of Denton Area Events.

  • Assist in opening new homes in the Denton area.

  • Regularly participate in THRIVE sessions to actively engage with the youth we serve.

Qualifications:

  • Live in the Denton Area.

  • 5 plus years of Ministry or Non-Profit Experience.

  • Experience in leadership and management.

  • Must possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to initiate, be self-motivated, work independently, and have strong time-management skills.

  • Experience working with person from trauma, or familiarity with trauma-informed care.

  • Experience working with diverse and/or difficult populations desired.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs is required.

  • Must be able to pass all required background screens and drug screens at any time.

  • Ability to build rapport and exercise empathy.

  • Demonstrates patience, tolerance, understanding, and a positive attitude.

  • Must adhere to the policies and procedures of Direction 613.
